Camellia District

Camellia District dedicated a Blue Star Memorial Marker in November 2012 at the Museum of Aviation at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins. The keynote speaker was Maj. Gen. Cornelius "Newt" Nugteren, USAF (Ret.). After the dedication a reception was given by members of Camellia District in honor of all members of the Armed Forces. |

The Wadell Barnes Botanical Gardens at Middle Georgia State College in Macon received a donation from the Camellia District at the recent board meeting in Macon. The donation was made to purchase camellias to be placed in a section of the Chinese Garden. |

Julie Groce, President, Federated Garden Clubs of Macon receives a Certificate of Distinguished Service Community Improvement from Suzan Bennett, Northwoods Garden Club member and Keep Macon/Bibb Beautiful Commissioner. The award was received for the Federation's partnership with the Commission and their work with the Yard of the Month program. |

To celebrate the inaugural National Planting Day, Camellia District Director and many members of the Federated Garden Clubs of Macon attended the September 2012 ceremonial planting of a Swamp White Oak at Waddell Barnes Botanical Gardens. |

Camellia District and the Federated Garden Clubs of Macon are planning the 2013 Historic Garden and Landscape Tour in Macon. The tour raises funds for Historic Garden Grants. |
