Laurel District

Rome's Spade and Trowel Garden Club held its May 2012 meeting at the House of Dreams at Berry College. At the top of Lavender Mountain, the house was built for Martha Berry as a retreat as well as a place to entertain. |

Kaitlyn Exposito, a second grade student at Liberty Elementary School in Canton recently won second place in the Garden Club of Georgia Woodsy Owl poster contest. Kaitlyn is a member of the Little Deer's Garden Club, a neighborhood club which is sponsored by the Laurel Garden Club of Canton. |

The Anne Hathaway Garden Club of Marietta celebrated its 60th anniversary in March 2012. The club had its beginning in 1952 with 16 enthusiastic ladies who shared a love of flowers. Two of the remaining charter members, who are in their 90s, were present and shared memorable stories of their years of dedicated service. |

Master Gardeners and Hiawassee Garden Club members are working together on several projects in 2012 to beautify Towns County. The latest project has been to make the landscaping at the front of the courthouse more pleasing to the eye. |

Cumming Garden Club created table floral designs for the Forsyth County Senior Expo in February 2012, the tenth year they have participated in this activity. |
|
Laurel District members participated in the Training of the Tour Guides at Gibbs Gardens, along with CC Garden Club Council Members and CC Master Gardeners, in March 2012. |
