"Expressions" Engagement Calendar
The 2017 GARDEN CLUB OF GEORGIA "EXPRESSIONS" - our annual calendar publication is almost here!

The "EXPRESSIONS" Committee is pleased to announce The Garden Club of Georgia's newest publication. For the 2017 "EXPRESSIONS," we are celebrating OUR GEORGIA. Learn about many of our state symbols and when they became part of Georgia. Then there are "Did You Know" historical facts about our organization, The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc.

WHY PURCHASE a 2017 "EXPRESSIONS?" - The most important reason for this publication is the listing of those students receiving $72,000 in scholarships awarded by The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. You will see several of these students’ notes of thanks for helping them make their future dreams come true. All profits from sales of "EXPRESSIONS" go towards The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. SCHOLARSHIP FUND so we can keep making dreams come true.

HOW TO PURCHASE a 2017 "EXPRESSIONS?" - If you belong to a garden club, your president must place an order through your District Calendar Chairman. They will be ready for pickup at all the October District Annual Meetings.

If you are not a member of a garden club, ask a garden club member friend to purchase a copy for you and ask about joining this wonderful organization. We would love to have you as a member and have you share your talents with us and maybe learn a little along the way. If you would like to become a Garden Club of Georgia member, call 706-227-5369 or gcga@uga.edu

Membership Development Guides
Garden Club of Georgia has published a booklet to help garden clubs recruit more members, keep the members they have and make meetings more educational and enjoyable for all. There are also several pamphlets designed to help Club Presidents navigate the busy garden club calendar—a kind of "what to do when" brochure—that has been produced by several of the Districts. Contact Headquarters for a copy.

Oleander District has published a Program & Membership Brochure that has useful ideas for all clubs.

New Beginnings: A Book of Installations
Installation books are available from Headquarters. This helpful publication offers a number of installation ceremonies that your club may wish to use when installing new officers. Spiral bound with 119 pages. $15.00 plus shipping and tax.

GCG Position Papers
Position Papers provide background information and reference points, and can also suggest club program topics. GCG encourages continued self-education on local, Georgia, and national issues. Each Bill for which GCG suggests volunteer constituent advocacy is evaluated for its adherence or lack thereof to the applicable Position Paper or Papers and to the GCG Mission.

Note that Position Paper titles include the year the Paper was first approved by the GCG State Board of Directors. They are reviewed in even numbered years. If revisions are made and approved, the word "revised" and the applicable year will appear at the bottom of each Paper. If no revision is made, each paper will be followed by "reviewed" and the applicable year. All Position Papers were reviewed in 2016, and some were revised.

Reference Library
Garden Club of Georgia Headquarters House has a reference library for club members' use. Over 200 titles of books or booklets on floral design, horticulture, landscape architecture, etc. are available for three-week checkout. Many of these volumes were donated by the late Hallie Brown. Follow the links below for a list of available books arranged by both title and author, and a list of additional books available for in-house use only, since the condition of the books prevents them from being mailed. Contact Headquarters for mailing fee. Postage is based on weight of volumes/merchandise ordered.

Wings Over Georgia: Birds and Butterflies Quarterly
Years ago, our Birds and Butterflies Chairman published a short newsletter "Wings Over Georgia" for our membership, highlighting items of interest concerning our winged friends. The newsletter was distributed via email and back issues are still available here since the information is timeless:
